This machine is designed in response to the demand for small scale production and R&D laboratories where closed
ampoules are used to obviate the need for internal washing. A flame of mixed gas and oxygen is applied to melt the glass.
Safety First flash back arresters are fitted to the gas inlets and needle valves control the settings.
The ampoules are placed into a manually operated spring loaded chuck and a flame is brought to bear on the top of
the ampoule. As the flame approaches the glass an electric switch is thrown and the chuck rotates and when the
opening station is in use the ampoule is opened with the flame. The Ampoules are now filled using a peristaltic pump
and filling jig (please see page 7).
When closing the gripper jaws are placed onto the ampoule neck and the flame operated. As the glass becomes
plastic the counter weight pulling on the jaws draws off the ampoule neck and a perfect rounded finish is achieved
with very little practice. The drawn off tip is dropped into a detachable box at the side of the machine to cool before
disposal. The sealing process is quick, regular in height and equivalent to that obtained from an automatic machine.
Specially designed to open and close closed type ampoules this versatile machine will also handle open type
ampoules after washing.

This machine is designed for use with natural or bottled
gas and compressed air. A mixer valve enables the user
to adjust the flames for maximum heat. A small air pump
(6002120) is available for situations where compressed
air is not available. A regulator and pressure gauge
(6002110) are recommended to keep the flow constant.
Ampoules are placed on to the adjustable platform and
turned in the flame by hand whilst the ampoule top is
drawn off with the other hand holding tweezers.

This semi automatic machine is for the rapid closure of containers with metal ROPP caps or pre-threaded
screw caps of any kind.
The cap is placed onto the bottle which is placed onto the platen by

A peristaltic filler designed with the pharmaceutical laboratory in mind.
The machine can be operated by hand, footswitch or will cycle
automatically with a delay of up to 10 seconds between fills. Like all
peristaltic pumps the liquid only comes into contact with the inside of
one uninterrupted length of silicone tubing which will withstand
repeated sterilisation.
The pump runs at a constant speed for a precisely determined
period. Bacteriological inline filtration can be performed at the outlet
side of the pump.

A useful hand operated accessory for use with any peristaltic filler designed to ensure the clean
filling of small necked containers such as ampoules without wetting the wall of the container at
the sealing point. The container is placed in a custom made holder and raised by hand to a
predetermined stop when the filling needle will be centred inside the container.

For hygienic filling of mobile liquids and light oils. The

microprocessor controlled Adelphi Peristaltic Pump
Dispenser can fill from 0.5 ml - 10 litres. The liquid only
comes into contact with one uninterrupted length of
silicon or viton tubing so changeovers are quick and easy
and there is no possibility of cross contamination. The
pump is variable speed and predetermined parameters
allow the programming of fill volumes.
The XY Distributor used in conjunction with the Peristaltic
Pump Dispenser enables whole trays of vials or bottles to
be filled automatically. Microprocessor controlled it can
hold 50 fill patterns in its memory.

Adelphi CENTRAC Manual
Cream and Liquid Filling Machine

The Centrac manual filling machine is

designed for small outputs and comprises
a stove enamelled aluminium base plate,
chrome plated gun metal pump brackets
and stainless steel operating slides, piston
shaft and lever handle. To this base set the
chosen accessories from the wide range of
interchangeable pumps, heads and nozzles
are added. Volume is adjusted by altering the
position of a stop collar on the guide rod.
For finer adjustments a screw is provided
to limit the forward stroke of the piston. The
whole machine is dismantled in minutes
for thorough cleaning. Maintenance should
normally only involve replacement of Teflon
cup washers and lubrication of moving parts.
Pumps cover the range 5-650 cc. Cream
and liquid heads are available for different
viscosity products.

The Adelphi Profill Filling System
Complies with US & International

The Adelphi Profill Capsule Filling machine
fills up to 100 capsules at a time of all types,
and is supplied with one set of change parts
to fill one size of capsule. Additional change
parts are available to fill other capsule sizes.
Fill weights within +/- 5-7% of average are
possible, based on using pre-measured
powder for each batch and using the
tamping device supplied with each machine.
Each machine is supplied with orientator, powder spreader,
50 pin tamper, powder tray and video CD instructions.

Adelphi Profill Capsule Filling Machines

The machines are easy to clean and made to GMP standards,

all powder contact parts being made from stainless steel
or anodised aluminium. Double-blind capsules, tablets and
caplets can be made speedily using the patent design and
optional inserters.
Heat resistant parts allow autoclaving. All but 2 parts
are dishwasher-safe. All parts can be dried with hot air.

Tumatic Tablet Capsule Counter
Perspex construction for visual checking and easy cleaning.
Coated and uncoated tablets up to a diameter of 1/2 and
capsules up to 3/4 long can be counted using a range of
5 interchangeable perforated plates. After filling the box, surplus
tablets are poured back into the bulk cantainer. By partially
withdrawing the slide, 5 to 10 tablets - depending on tray and
tablet - are dropped into the bottom for easy dispensing into
bottles. Full withdrawal dispenses 50 or 100 tablets.

Lifting Leaf Counter for Tablets and Capsules

Manufactured from stainless steel and anodised aluminium these special manual
counters are made to order to match samples provided by the customer. They
count a specific number of objects which is not variable. The counter is used like
a scoop and pushed into a pile of objects which fall into the holes in the counting
plate. When all the holes are filled the excess is shaken off. The counter is then
tilted back and the plate lifted to allow the predetermined number of objects to
be transferred to a container via the outlet chute. Part No: Each counter has a
unique part number but tablets are prefixed 6023300 and capsules 6023400.

Adelphi Bottle Washer

The Adelphi bottle washer is used for the internal rinsing
of bottles with mains water. Neck diameters between 9.5
mm and 100 mm can be handled at a rate of up to 600
per hour. Two different models and a range of nozzles are
available to suit many different containers.

A bottle is inverted over the nozzle and depressed. This

releases the spring and jets of water are released which
clean every part of the inside of the container. The normal
four armed rest is made from plastic and is easily cleaned
or replaced.
Nozzles are screwed into the body and are
interchangeable. The unit may be attached to the mains
directly by plumbing (Model 3) or on a stand with a pipe
connected to a tap (Model 2)

Apollo 2 Liquid Viewer

The apparatus consists of a viewing station in a painted aluminium frame comprising a matt black panel held in
a vertical position and a non-glare white panel held in a vertical position adjacent to the black panel. A light unit
adjustable in height with 2 x 13 watt fluorescent lamps within a polycarbonate cover gives downward light with an
intensity maintained between 2000 and 3750 lux.

The Centrac FCC is operated by a handle which requires
two turns to close fold and crimp a tube giving a double
fold. An adjustable rest is provided to locate tubes in the
correct position, a gauge plate regulates depth of fold
and a wing nut adjusts the depth of crimp by altering
the spring tension. All working parts are fully guarded.

This machine is available in two formats, one for sealing aluminium
tubes, the other for sealing plastic or laminate tubes. In both cases,
the tubes are loaded by hand into a tube holder which is then
transported automatically under each station on the machine then
back to the original position. A two-handed start is provided for safety.
The metal tube version has two stations:
1. to make two folds
2. to clamp the folds and apply a code if required.
