THE MATRIX

INTFILO

The matrix according to the movie is a unique reality that is created by cyber
intelligence. It is a place wherein the rebels (Morpheus and his team) go out to battle the
agents or the antagonist of the movie. The matrix is a computer generated place where
ones mind can go and visit to. Everything is possible within the matrix, but on the other
hand, matrix is not the reality. Matrix according to the movie is the world where we live in.
People dont know that it exists even if they are inside it. The Matrix therefore, was a dream
within a dream. Part of this is a reality for the humans; the other part was used by the rebels
as a virtual reality or avenue to fight agents. The film problematizes reality by making us
think that we do not live in a reality. That may be everything that we are doing now is under
the so called matrix. It questions reality, and if there is really something beyond where we
are now. The movie tells us that no one can know about the matrix. So it is possible that we
are in the matrix now. Matrix problematizes knowledge because it makes people question
what they really know. Another instance is when trinity was plugged with the software that
enables her to know how to drive a helicopter. It makes her smarter inside the matrix, but its
only until there. It also again questions us about reality, especially in the means of eating.
There is a line wherein cypher tells us that the matrix tells him that that it is juicy and
delicious (steak). After nine years, he realizes that ignorance is bliss. Matrix problematizes
knowledge because the matrix tells us that everything is only an illusion, a dream within a
dream.
The matrix is all about connecting yourself to a machine and brings your mind
somewhere else. It makes your mind wander in the matrix, while your body is in the real
world. The matrix for me makes us believe that the mind can be distinctly different with the
body. The mind can go places wherein the body cannot. It can do things the body cannot do.
The mind is that powerful. On the other hand, the body is also one with the mind. Whenever
something happens inside the matrix, the body dies externally in the other world. This is true
for Switch and the rest of them. An important scene happens when neo died for a while after
a battle with an agent. Neo had almost been considered as the one, not until he saw blood
and believed that the matrix is real. Trinity, on the external world talked to the then dead
body of neo saying that she loves him and kissed him. The brain is still alive during that
moment. Because of this, he felt alive and believed that the matrix is not real. This is true for
neo.
I believe that the movie is purely science fiction because of a lot of reason. If the
matrix is said to be real, then someone should have already proven it at this day and age. By
prove I mean, someone is doing something like what the matrix does. Also, someone from

the other side should have gone back and spilled the secrets of the matric for the movie to be
made. But as we know, it is not impossible, because there is no bridge at all. I can also say
for a fact that no one really knows if the matrix existed or not. There is no actual evidence to
deny its existence. There are no tell-tale signs of the matrix. The world of Neo seemed just
like our world, our reality. So can you be sure that you are in the matrix? I dont think so.
