Ergonomics: The Study of how the workplace relates to human functions.
Negligence: Breach of common law legal duty of care to exercise
reasonable care towards others, resulting in loss, damage or injury. Motivation: The way in which people can be persuaded to perform an act willingly. Accident incident rate: IR= Number of accident during a specific period of time Average number of workers over the same period of time Hazard: Something with the potential to cause harm. Risk: The likelihood that the harm from a particular hazard will be realized. Health: The absence of disease. Safety: The absence of Risk. Welfare: Access to basic facilities. Accident: An unplanned unwanted event which lead to injury, damage or loss. Near miss: An unplanned unwanted event that had the potential to lead to injury, damage or loss but did not actually do so.
