Squares Game

This is a game that can be used for any topic for Sharing Time. You will need to make up 25 markers, and label them: A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, etc. Place these markers into a small container, so they can be drawn out one at a time. Split the children into 2 teams and give each team a Squares card/grid. Read a question out loud. Each team must write their answer down or tell their answer to a team leader. Once both teams are done, have each team read/say their answer out loud. Tell the children the correct answer and then pick a marker out of the container and read it aloud. Each team must find the square on their card. If they answered the question correctly, and the square that was chosen is positive, they receive the appropriate points. If the square is a negative square, they don't get any points. If they answer the question Incrorrectly and the square is a positive square, they receive no points, but if the square is negative, they receive the appropriate negative points. The team with the most points at the end wins.
