PRAYERS FOR THE SICK AND SHUT-IN: “Let us raise up in prayer those who seek
God’s healing love, those at the hospital, hospice and at home”. May your struggle be
consoled by Christ’s love“.

St. Francis Xavier Parish Holy Week Celebrations


Tuesday, March 30 th – The Mass of Chrism: Takes place at 7:00 p.m. at St.
Columbkille’s Cathedral in Pembroke. This celebration is a sign of the unity and
communion of the priests with their Bishop. During this Mass, the oils used
in the celebration of the Sacraments are blessed by Bishop Mulhall.
Easter Triduum:
HOLY THURSDAY
THURSDAY: MASS OF THE LORD’S SUPPER – 7:00 p.m.
GOOD FRIDAY
FRIDAY: CHILDREN’S WAY OF THE CROSS – 11:00 a.m.
CELEBRATION OF THE LORD’S PASSION – 3:00 p.m.
SATURDAY: 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. – CONFESSIONS
SATURDAY EASTER VIGIL VIGIL: - 8:00 p.m. Blessing of Easter Fire and Water, Liturgy of the Word
and Eucharist. Social gathering in main foyer after the Vigil. Please plan to stay and celebrate the
Resurrection!!
EASTER SUNDAY MORNING
SUNDAY MORNING: - 10:30 a.m. Parish Mass celebrating the Resurrection of the Lord.
LET US JOURNEY THROUGH THE TRIDUUM AS THE PEOPLE OF GOD!

GOOD FRIDAY is a day of fast and abstinence from meat.


The Share Lent collection is taken up on Good Friday.
Please be generous as we share with those who struggle with
day to day needs to survive the human condition.

COMMUNION: As we celebrate the founding of our Eucharistic Celebration on


Holy Thursday we hear in a special way the words of Jesus
“Take this and eat”
“Take this and drink”
Having come through a season of anxiety over the H1N1 flu we will, at this
Mass, and continuing from there be offering everyone the opportunity to
celebrate Communion with Christ by receiving his Body and Blood.

We got off to a good start last weekend. Approximately 784 of the 2500 books were picked up.
Thank you very much for your support!! We will once again be distributing at the entrances of

“PILGRIMAGE TO PERU” - a third pilgrimage trip to Peru is being planned for Nov. 15th –
Nov. 27th, 2010 as a continuing commitment of our partnership with the people of Peru.
Details are set out in a brochure which is available in the church and at the parish office.
Deadline for applications is April 30, 2010.

NATIONAL CATHOLIC MISSION 2010 – “A GOD FOR ALL SEASONS”


Tomorrow night the National Catholic Mission 2010, “A God for All Season”, will be
broadcast on VISIONTV Monday, March 29th (Pt. 1) and Tuesday, March 30th (Pt. 2) at
9:00 p.m. and repeated at 11:00 p.m. It will feature Spiritan Father Pat Fitzpatrick and
Benedictine Sister Joan Chittister.
