Message from the Faculty Coordinator

The Department of Business Administration, University of Lucknow has always


endeavoured to provide quality education to students, fortifying them with
skills and knowledge to compete with the best in the Industry. It has kept
abreast with the changes in the global business environment and evolved to
meet these growing challenges. We aim at the all-round development of our
students, equipping them with sound academic knowledge as well as
providing them with adequate industry exposure to deal with the rapidly
changing economic scenario. The curriculum provides an understanding of the
contemporary business issues and prepares students to function effectively in
a culturally diverse environment. LUMBA alumni are high achievers who have
made their mark in any career that they have chosen.

the students is furnished in this Placement Brochure. If given an opportunity

The University of Lucknow, founded in 1921, has emerged as one of the largest and
well-known centre of education and research in India.

THE DEPARTMENT IS ONE OF THE OLDEST IN THE FIELD, HAS BEEN A PIONEER
IN MANAGEMENT EDUCATION & RESEARCH

Distinguishing Features

The department has been offering MBA Programme since 1974. Thirty-eight
batches of MBA have graduated from the Department so far.
Initial faculty members trained through International Training Program (ITM) at
Stanford University, USA and IIM, Ahemdabad.
Current faculty members have international teaching and research experience
particularly in USA, Finland and Kenya.
Pioneer in launching new management programs which are backbone of selffinancing in the University.
Department has the distinction of being ranked within the top ten business
departments in the University system in India was conferred Bloomberg Bschool Excellence Award in 2012.
Strong research focus with more than 3 JRFs enrolled Ph.D. 80 research
contributions in terms of Ph.Ds and D.Litts Awarded so far.
Students of the departments are university wide top performers and have been
awarded Chancellors Medal.
Has implemented model UGC Curriculum for MBA Program which is subject to
periodic reviews to stand contemporary.
Admission process through IIM-CAT for Quality input.
Strong Alumni base of more than 3000 pass outs occupying senior positions in
industry and business.
Large number of students and Ph.D. pass out are faculty members in leading Bschools including IIMs, Indian School of Business and many international
Universities.

The department hosted a workshop on Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME) on


13 Jan. 2015. The workshop was organized to introduce the participants to the PRME program of
United Nation and create awareness on how to integrate management education to the concept of
responsible education and sustainable Development. Prof. Ajai Prakash, Convener of the Workshop
highlighted the united nation PRME initiative, its roots, development and integration with
education. Mr. Jonas Haertle, Head, PRME Secretariat, United Nation Global Compact Office was the
key resource person and delivered on the PRME initiative, its principles and issues and challenges
in integrating the responsible management education in the main stream business education.
