This half-day camp is just the ticket for kids 6-14 years old who have
expressed interest in and/or shown a talent for golf, but arent quite
ready to play a full round. With the help of a Montgomery County
Golf Academy instructor, campers will practice putting, chipping,
driving and using irons and woods Monday-Thursday at the Driving
Range. On Friday, theyll compete in a small tournament at a nearby
golf course. Itll be a blast for juniors, and a great way to develop the
skills needed to start playing golf with the family. Camp fee includes
instruction, tees, Nike Golf balls and transportation on Friday.

If your children love hockey, why not treat them to a 5-day hockey
camp? Well focus on skating, stick handling and off-ice fitness; and
incorporate elements of power skating, passing and shooting and
games to make this a fun-filled week. Each camper will also receive
a complimentary hockey jersey! Players will be assigned to groups
according to their skill level. Full gear required: Caged helmet, curved
stick cut to skaters height, shin guards, elbow and shoulder pads,
hockey gloves and pants, cup, and hockey skates. Rental hockey
skates are available. Please bring sneakers and workout clothes for
off-ice conditioning, a snack each day (no nut products, please),
and water bottle.

Schools out, and its time to play! During the tennis part of
camp, kids with little or no tennis experience will play
with the smaller rackets and softer balls of
our 10 and Under Tennis classes which
will help them connect with the ball.
They will really enjoy themselves
while they learn the basic strokes
and rules of tennis. Well also do
some fun tennis drills and games
that will teach moves and skills to
use on the court. Older and more
experienced players will be placed
together to assure they are getting a
good challenge with their friends and
peers. When were not playing tennis,
well take a hike on one of the great trails in
Wheaton Regional Park, visit Brookside Nature Center and explore
nature, and cool off at the South Germantown Splash Playground on
Tuesdays. Itll be great fun, great exercise, and never a dull moment!
Sunscreen and hats highly recommended, and a swimsuit for splashing.
Please bring a non-perishable lunch and water bottle each day! Drop
off and pick up campers at Wheaton Indoor Tennis (11715 Orebaugh
Ave., Wheaton, MD 20902).

For thousands of years, our ancestors not only survived but thrived
in the natural worldwithout any of our modern gadgets and
conveniences. Could you do the same? Join us to learn how to make
natural shelters, find and prepare water and food, and create fire
without matches! Learn how our ancestors used the materials and
tools of nature, and how nature can supply what you need to survive
in todays fast-paced world. Get ready to be outside, get dirty, and
have fun! Campers will learn to work with fire and knives during
camp, so they will need to be mature and focused. FOBH $285

Its a week of water-filled fun! Plan to get wet (and muddy) as we explore
our bit of the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Well compare fresh and
saltwater habitats through hands-on experiences like sampling for waterdwelling animals and performing simple water tests. Field trips will take
us to see where our water comes from, how water is treated after we use
it, and on a visit to the Chesapeake Bay. Well also spend time boating
and fishing as we learn all about water, the plants and animals that live
there, and how to better care for our watershed. FOBH $285

Look to the skies for birds, butterflies, dragonflies, and bees! In this
camp you'll discover the amazing diversity of creatures with wings;
learn how to identify birds and insects; and explore different flight
patterns and the adaptations that help things with wings survive.
Youll be amazed with facts about our native flyers. We'll catch flying
insects, try bird migration, make crafts that fly, visit the "Wings of
Fancy" live butterfly show and enjoy many fun nature activities,
games and hikes. Take flight with "Things with Wings!"
