Calculation CEMA 5 - Parte2

The document provides information on characterizing bulk solid materials, including: - Codes to describe a material's size, flowability, abrasiveness, and other traits. For example, a very fine, free-flowing, abrasive material with explosive dust would be code A26N. - Tables listing example materials' average weights, angles of repose, recommended inclinations, and codes. Coal, for instance, has a weight of 45-55 lbs/cu ft and angle of repose of 38 degrees. - Belt widths for conveyors transporting materials, which should be wide enough to not overload lumps near the edge. Common widths include 18, 24, 30, 36, and 42 inches.

Belt Widths
www.kmg.agh.edu.pl

The belt widths are as

follows: 18, 24, 30, 36,
42, 48, 54, 60, 72, 84,
and 96 inches.

The width of the

narrower belts may be
governed by the size of
lumps to be handled.
Belts must be wide
enough so that any
combination of prevailing
lumps and finer material
does not load the lumps
too close to the edge of
the conveyor belt.
