AIMS:
- revising the vocabulary related to wild animals
- teaching students vocabulary related to animals on the farm;
- developing students listening, speaking and writing skills;
- practising the new vocabulary together with the previously taught structures There is/ there are, I can, My favouriteis
OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the lesson students will be able to:
- recognize and say different farm animals
- using words describing farm and wild animals in oral and written messages
TEACHING TECHNIQUES: T-whole class conversation; singing and performing a song; listening to a song and watching a video; elicitation;
game, group interaction (question-answer), fiil in the gaps, dialogue
MATERIALS: audio-material (laptop, speakers, video song); toy farm and toy animals, flashcards, blackboard, worksheets

Stages of the lesson

Procedure
Teachers and students activities
T greets Ss, asks how they are. Ss give different answers.
Ss sing a song learnt in the previous unit: Can an elephant jump?
They practice again the song learnt in the previous lesson: Animal
Song
T asks Ss to read their homework then checks if students remember
wild animals learnt the lesson before.
Ss read their homework individually and answer Ts questions.
T plays a video song: Walk around the farm to introduce Ss in the
new subject: farm animals
T asks Ss what they have seen and heard in the song.
Ss answer.
T shows children a toy farm and some toy animals: cow, horse, pig,
sheep, hen, chicken, duck.
Ss repeat the words describing the animals after the teacher.
T sticks cards with animals on the blackboard, asks Ss to say the
animals and writes down the words on the board.
Ss write the words in their notebooks. T checks if they have written
the words correctly.
Game: Practising the structure: Is there a/anon the farm?
T divides the class into 4 groups. Each group receives 2 cards with
animals. Each group has to ask questions to the next group using
the words on their cards.
E.g. G1asks G2: Is there a pig on the farm? G2 has to look at the
toy farm in front of the classroom and give an answer: Yes, there
is/No, there isnt. The groups get a point when they give a correct
answer.
T gives Ss worksheets with a fill in the gaps exercise.
Ss work in pairs. They fill in the gaps with the correct information,

Possible problems:
1. Students may not understand some instructions in English, especially in the Game task, since they are beginners. In this case, T will
have to explain the instructions in Romanian.
2. Some activities may take less or more time than the predicted time. If the lesson ends earlier, T has to come up with an extra activity:
