PreliminaryInstructionsandNotes
1. Readthisentireprocedurebeforebeginningthecalibration.
2. CalibrationshallbeperformedinanenvironmentthatconformstoManufacturer

3. ThedigitalmultimeterwillhereafterbereferredtoastheInstrumentUnderTest
(IUT).
4. VerifythattheIUTisclean.
5. VisuallyexaminetheIUTforanyconditionthatcouldcauseerrorsinthecalibration.
6. Ifanyoftherequirementscannotbemet,refertotheapplicablemanufacturer
manual.
7. Ifamalfunctionoccursoradefectisobservedwhilecalibrationisinprogress,the
calibrationshallbediscontinuedandnecessarycorrectiveactiontakenifcorrective
actionaffectsameasurementfunctionpreviouslycalibrated,thefunctionshallbe
recalibratedbeforetheremainderoftheprocedureimplemented.

TheStandardslistedbelowshouldbeselectedonthebasisoftheirhigheraccuracylevel
whencomparedtotheunitundertest.EquivalentStandardsmustbeequaltoorbetter

thantheMinimumUseSpecification.

stabilizeforapproximately5minutes.Conductthetestsinanambienttemperatureof25
5Candarelativehumidityoflessthan80%.
Note:IftheIUThasanautomaticrangingfeature,thenthefunctionbeingchecked(i.e.
voltage,current,orresistance)mustbeverifiedinthevariablerangemodeaswell.

BatteryReplacement
ReplacethebatteryintheIUTandmakesurethebatterycontactsarenotdirty.

points.Notoneshouldbeheardindicatingnonterminatingconnection.
5. Connectthetestleadstothecontinuitytestfixturebetweenthe50ohmsetup.The
testtoneshouldindicatecontinuitybetweenthetestpoints.
DCVOLTAGETEST

1. UsethecalibratortosupplythecorrectDCvoltagelistedbelow.
2. Setthecalibratorforazerovoltinput.
3. ConnectthecalibratoroutputtotheV/ohmandcommoninputterminalsoftheIUT.
Note:Connecttheground/common/lowsideoftheRotek2500tothecommonon
theIUT.

4. Withreferencetothetablebelow,selecttheIUTvoltagerangeandsetthe
calibratoroutputtothecorrespondingIUTinputvoltage.Testperthefollowing
chartandverifythatthedisplayfallswithinthelimitsgiven.
