A NEW APPROACH
EIBG
(European
Intelligent
Building
Group):
Intelligent building is one that incorporates the best available concepts,
materials, systems and technologies integrating these to achieve a
building which meets or exceeds the performance requirements of the
building stakeholders, which include the owners, managers and users, as
well as the local and global community.
Also
from
EIBG
but
more
often
quoted:
Intelligent building is one that maximizes the efficiency of its occupants and
allows effective management of resource with minimum life costs.
IBI
(The
Intelligent
Buildings
Institute,
US):
Intelligent building is one that provides a productive and cost-effective
environment through optimization of its four basic components STRUCTURE, SYSTEMS,
SERVICES
MANAGEMENT - AND THE INTERRELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN THEM.
The results from implementing these technologies and processes are buildings that
cost less to operate and are worth more to their occupants
For projects that are owner occupied, such as corporate, government, and
institutions, the benefits of an intelligent building provide an immediate in terms of
higher employee productivity and reduced operating expenses.
For commercial developments, these projects are expected to result in above market
rents, improved retention, higher occupancy rates, and lower operating expenses. All
around, this is a win-win situation!

Flexibility
It enable our building flexibly, both today and in the future. We achieve this by designing
our solutions with a modular structure so that they can be easily customized and
expanded to meet specific needs
Increase the cost effectiveness and energy efficiency of building space heating and
cooling and water heating technologies.
Target improvements in the efficiency, performance, lifetime, and quality of light from
both organic and inorganic light emitting diodes through solid state lighting
research.
Develop sensors and controls to help building operators better adapt energy use to
environmental conditions.
Develop building energy modeling software that allows researchers and building
professionals to model building energy and water use, and make recommendations for
improving efficiency.
The focus is to overcome the challenges and problems in high level and large
scale integration of intelligent and automation for buildings.
The 18-story faade of Pixel Tower in Dubai was inspired by the moving bubbles in a
champagne glass and built for the young, and trendy people
Intended for the Dubai Waterfront,
It has passive solar techniques and facade geometry to minimize heat gain on the south
house was half-buried in the ground and shaped like a giant blue egg?
It is the largest single-span glasshouse in the world.
Located in Great Britain and designed by Foster + Partners, the enormous structure
contains more than a thousand plant species (many endangered) and utilizes many
sustainable strategies like
ENERGY-OPTIMIZING COMPUTER-CONTROLLED HEATING SYSTEM,
ALUMINUM GLAZING SYSTEM,
RAINWATER CATCHMENT AND A BIOMASS BOILER.
The House in Tehran is a beautiful spacesaving home that comes with a set of
assembly instructions.
Iranian architects at nextoffice designed the
house with a series of semi-mobile rooms that
can be rotated by a simple push of a button in
order to provide extra space and get optimal
amounts of sunlight.
