KZ1-KZ2 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP – SARNO (ITALY) 11th APRIL 2010

TILLOCA (CRG-MAXTER) BETRAYED BY THE RAIN ARRIVES 5th IN

THE FIRST EVENT OF THE KZ2 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP
THE RAIN FALLEN FEW MOMENTS BEFORE THE FINAL CONDITIONED LUCA TILLOCA’S RACE IN KZ2. HE WAS HAPPY
TH
WITH A 5 PLACE AFTER WINNING THE PREVIOUS FOUR QUALIFYING HEATS. GOOD PERFORMANCE – AT LEAST TILL
THE FINALS – OF THE SPANISH DRIVER GARCIA, WHO GOT THE POLE POSITION DURING THE PRACTICE.

Sarno (Salerno – Italy), 11th

April 2010. After being the
fastest on the track during
the qualifying heats of the
opening event of the KZ2
European Championship,
winning hands down all the
four heats on the
international Circuit Napoli
at Sarno (Salerno), Luca
Tilloca, driver for CRG
Holland Team, saw the final
win slipping out of his hands
right in the final phase.
The expectations of the
young driver from Alghero
were frustrated by the rain,
fallen few moments before
the start of the first final. The track
was very slippery, and the young
driver has not still got used to it: he
was in trouble more than once,
even though he eventually
managed to get a good fifth place
with his CRG Maxter. In the second
final, Tilloca tried to strike back
with a good recovery but, after
arriving till the second place quite
easily, he was suddenly obliged to
surrender to an electrical problem.
Also Antonio Garcia Van
Bastelaere, on a CRG Maxter of the
Jamkart team, was the author of a
terrific start. In the qualifying

placed fourth after the qualifying
heats with a win, two second places and a third place.

Unfortunately, Garcia’s performance too was conditioned
by the rain. He arrived 21st in the first heat after a spin.
Then, with dry conditions, he recovered well in the final 2,
arriving till the 11th place.
In KZ1, the best among the CRG private drivers who took
part in the event was the young Dutch driver Jorrit Pex,
who is getting better and better race after race: he was
9th in the first race then 7th in the second.
The next meeting of the KZ1 and KZ2 European
Championship is scheduled for next 27th June in France,
on the Varennes s/Allier circuit.
