Steps Performed by End-User


Step 1: Create a MathWorks Account
- Create a MathWorks Account.
- Associate account with TAH license.
- Install product files.

- Activate installation.

To activate the software, you must have a MathWorks Account. You can use an
existing account, but the e-mail address used for the account must include the
universitys e-mail domain and the account must be set up for academic use.
You can create an account at the MathWorks Web site or during the
installation process (see Step 3: Install Product Files on page 1-10)
To create an account at The MathWorks Web site, click the Create Account
link. When you create the account, make sure to set it up for academic use, as
shown in the following figure.

Step 2: Associate Your Account with the License


- Create a MathWorks Account.
- Associate account with TAH license.
- Install product files.

To activate the software, you must associate your MathWorks Account with
the TAH Campus license, using the Activation Key.
You can associate with a license using the License Center at the MathWorks
Web site or during installation using the MathWorks installer (see Step 3:
Install Product Files on page 1-10).
To associate with a license at the License Center, follow these instructions:
1 Go to the MathWorks Web site and log in to your MathWorks Account.
2 On the My Account page, click Manage Licenses.
3 On the My Licenses page, click

4 In the Associate dialog box, enter the Activation Key of the TAH Campus

license.

Enter Activation Key.

Click Continue.

Step 3: Install Product Files


- Create a MathWorks Account.
- Associate account with TAH license.
- Install product files.
End-user

- Activate installation.

1 Get the Activation Key for the TAH Campus license and any instructions

your administrator has prepared.

2 Get access to the product files. For example, the administrator at your site

might give you the location on a server on your internal network where
you can get the files.

If your administrator wants you to download product files from the


MathWorks, you must go to the License Center at the MathWorks Web
site and log in to your MathWorks Account. (If you need to create an
account, see Step 1: Create a MathWorks Account on page 1-8.) On the
My Account page, click Manage Licenses to get to the License Center. To
download, you must associate your account with the TAH Campus license
(see Step 2: Associate Your Account with the License on page 1-9). On the
My Licenses page, click Download Product Updates.
3 Start the MathWorks installer specific to your platform.

Windows: Double-click the setup.exe file. If you have access to the


product DVD, the installer starts automatically when you insert the
DVD into the DVD drive connected to your computer.
Macintosh: Double-click the InstallForMacOSX file.
Linux/Unix: Run the install.sh script.
Note The following details the installation steps on a Windows platform,
but the process is similar on Macintosh, Linux, and UNIX platforms.

4 Choose to install automatically using the Internet in the Installer Welcome

dialog box.

5 Review the software license agreement and click Next.

6 Log in to your MathWorks Account, specifying your university e-mail

address and password, and click Next. If you need to create an account,
select the I need to create a MathWorks Account option and click Next.
Enter your university e-mail address and password.

Select this option if


you need to create
an account.

Click Next.

If you are creating a new account, enter your university e-mail address,
first name, and last name in the Account Creation dialog box. When you
create an account you must also specify the Activation Key of the TAH
Campus license. Click Next.

Enter your university e-mail address, first name, and last name.

Click Next.

Enter Activation Key.

7 Specify the license you want to install in the License Selection dialog box.

If you have already associated your account with the TAH Campus
license at the License Center, select the license from the list of licenses.
If you have the Activation Key for the TAH Campus license, select the
Enter an Activation Key for a license not listed option and enter
the Activation Key.
If you created an account in the previous step, you already specified the
Activation Key, so the installer skips this step.

After specifying the TAH Campus license, click Next.


If you are already associated with the
TAH license, select it in the list.

If you are not associated with the TAH


license, select this option and enter the
Activation Key.

8 Select the Typical option in the Installation Type dialog box. This ensures

that all products on the TAH Campus license get installed.

9 Specify the folder in which you want to install the software in the

Installation Folder dialog box and click Next.

10 Confirm your choices and click Install.

Confirm settings and click Install.

11 When the MathWorks installer finishes, it displays the Installation

Complete dialog box. In this dialog box, you can choose to activate the
software you just installed. You cannot use the software until you activate
it. The MathWorks recommends activating immediately after installation.
If you want to activate later in a separate process, clear the option and click
Next. To proceed with activation, leave the option selected and click Next.

Step 4: Activate the Software


- Create a MathWorks Account.
- Associate account with TAH license.

- Activate installation.

If you chose to let the installer launch the activation application, the
application can skip several of the steps outlined below because the installer
passes the information to the activation application.
1 In the Activation Welcome dialog box, click Next.

Note If you started the activation application, rather than letting the
installer start it, you must choose whether to activate automatically or
manually. The MathWorks recommends activating automatically.

Click Next.

2 Log in to your MathWorks Account and click Next.

Note If you let the installer start the activation application and you were
logged in to your account, the activation application skips this step.
3 Select the license you want to activate and click Next.

4 Specify the Activation Key in the Activation Key dialog box and click Next.
Enter Activation Key for TAH license.

Click Next.

5 Confirm your activation information in the Confirmation dialog box and

click Activate to activate the software.

6 Complete the activation process by clicking Finish in the Activation

Complete dialog box.
