The Commissioning Engineer is responsible for putting Generator package equipment

into service according to EHS and Quality standards.


Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Prepare the commissioning activities for the concerned product / package.

Receive the preparation package including (but not limited to), drawings,
Operation and Maintenance Manual, settings notices, Safety notices,
commissioning procedures and test reports, field quality working plan, general
and specific risk assessment related to the commissioning works, last software
version, Site organization chart and communication channel, commissioning
schedule,...

Set-up the necessary tools including associated calibration certificate for


Generator testing

Execute the commissioning activities of the designated scope of works strictly


following the EHS rules and according to the quality standards.

Perform risk assessment and take appropriate control measures before starting
any major testing & Commissioning.

Perform the individual tests of the equipment of the designated scope

Perform the functional tests of the equipment of the designated scope

Perform the tests and final adjustments of the equipment during the overall tests

Perform generator performance tests

Issue weekly report to the Commissioning Manager and the Head of


Commissioning department including progress of works and forecast

Knowledge, Skill and Experience

5+ years of experience in power plant commissioning and engineering

Minimum of 3 years generator commissioning experience

Experience developing commissioning procedures

Proficient with the MS Office Suite of products

Hydro Industry experience preferred by not required

Extensive knowledge of power plant systems

Quick and thorough decision making

Motivating and well-aimed promotion of ideas and concepts

Delegating, setting priorities and acting directly towards the target, avoid 'micromanagement'

Fluent in English

Self-motivated and achiever

Open-minded / flexible for changes and new ideas

Ability to travel up to 75% and work extended hours to support the business.

Authorization to work in the US without any further action from ALSTOM

Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
