Example Report

This document outlines the required sections for a project report, including an abstract, introduction, theoretical modeling, numerical and experimental setups, results and discussion, and conclusion. The introduction must discuss previous work and the project's unique contribution. The theoretical, numerical, and experimental sections will provide analytical formulations, computational modeling details, and experimental procedures. The results and discussion section will present and interpret figures, tables, and other findings. The conclusion will summarize the background, approach, outcomes, and future work.

Title Goes Here

Abstract:
The Abstract should be minimum one and maximum two pages. It should briefly explain the
background, the approach and the goals of the project.

Keywords: Please use single or multiple keywords related to this project and separate them with
comma.
1. Introduction:
This section should have background on the topic and mention the work of at least 12 previous
researchers with references. This section needs to be 3 to 5 pages. The font must be Times New
Roman and size 12, with 1.5 line spacing.
One paragraph (approximately 4 to 10 sentences) must be stating why this project is essential
and what scientific/engineering gaps exist that this project is trying to fill those gaps. Please
clearly express your unique contribution.
2. Theoretical Modeling
In this section, please provide theoretical or analytical formulations to support the project. Use
references and formulas. This section must be minimum 1 page and maximum 4 pages.
3. Numerical Setup
3.1.
Computational Domain
The computational domain with pictures and details should be stated in this section.
Approximately one page.
3.2.

Model Setup

The model details in terms of setup setting must be provided in details here. Approximately one
page.
3.3.

Boundary and Initial Conditions

The model boundary conditions and/or initial conditions must be provided in details here.
Approximately one page.

3.4.

Grid Generation

Grid independency analysis must be performed and results should be provided in this section.
Grid independency analysis shows that the results are independent of the mesh size. Typically
three mesh sizes will be used and data will be analyzed.
3.5.

Assumptions and Parameters

Any assumptions along the modeling must be stated here with reasoning.
4. Experimental Procedure
4.1.
Experimental Setup
Show the actual setup figure and schematic drawing of the system.
4.2.

Material Properties and Characterization

In this section show the material properties, preferably in a table, with SI units.
4.3.

Measurements

If measurements done for estimating the properties of fluid or any other measurements, it must
be provided in this section.
4.4.

Instruments

Any instruments used in this project should be mentioned in this section with details, pictures,
etc.
5. Results and discussions
All results in the form of plots, figures and Tables should be reported in this section. There
should be interpretation of the results under each figure or table or any form of results. This
section is the main section of this report. Results and Discussions section should be minimum 4
pages and maximum 8 pages. Please number each figure and table.

6. Conclusion
Conclusion should has the summary of the whole project with maximum 2 pages. The conclusion
should starts with a summary of background (maximum 3 sentences) and then talk about the
approach and goals of this project (maximum 4 sentences). It should further summarize the
results and outcomes of the project (maximum 7 sentences). It should also has a section on future
plans and next steps for the audience (maximum 5 sentences).
