Objectives:
1. At the end of this activity, students will understand the importance of clear
goals, measurable objectives, and detailed evaluation plans for a public
health intervention.
2. At the end of this activity, students will have written goals and measurable
objectives for their health education projects.
Assignment:
Work together with your health education project team for your clinical
placement. At the end of the allotted time, you will submit your written notes
in the assignment section on SacCT. Be prepared to present your findings in
class.
Part 1.

Describe the community to which you will deliver your health


education presentation.
The community we are presenting to will be 6th grade students at 2
elementary schools.

What is the topic? And why are you delivering this topic to this
targeted community?
Our topic is sexual education/puberty education. We chose this topic to
increase awareness about the changes that occur during puberty to
elementary school students.

What are two goals for your health education project?


Increase knowledge of puberty changes that occur in males and
females.
Facilitate understanding that differences in body shapes and
structure do not influence reproductive ability.
Empower students in believing that puberty is a multi-step process
that occurs at different times in each individuals life.

Students have the ability to identify their knowledge deficit related


to puberty changes.
Students will be able to verbalize the normal signs of the beginning
of puberty.
Students understand that puberty changes occur on a wide
paradigm of normalcy.
Students restate changes that occur in the body of a male and in
the body of a female during the pubescent years.

Students will be able to verbalize the normal signs of the beginning

Write two SMART measurable objectives for your health education


project. Label them appropriately as short-term or long-term outcome
objectives.
The sixth grade students of classes Mrs. X and Mr. Y will recognize that
differences in body parts are normal and do not affect reproduction by
the end of the second Puberty Talks presentation as evidenced by an
increase of at least 15% in the Post-Test
The children of classes Mrs. X and Mr. Y will be able to understand the
basics of puberty changes in males and female by the end of the
second Puberty Talks presentation as evidenced by stating changes
that occur during puberty in both a male and a female
