The Baima Demonstration Plant is

one of the worlds largest CFB boilers,
an anthracite-fired 300 MW power
plant being built in the Sichuan province
of the Peoples Republic of China.
ALSTOM CFB technology was chosen
based on a series of technical and
economic evaluations. Under terms of
the contract, ALSTOM is supplying the

CFB boiler, in cooperation with

Dongfang Boiler Group.
The Baima Project includes a Transfer of
Technology agreement to Chinas three
major boiler manufacturers Dongfang
Boiler Group, Harbin Boiler Works and
Shanghai Boiler Works and to the
seven members of the Chinese Electric

Power Design Institute. It is expected that

substantial experience in diverse coals,
operation modes and site conditions in
China will be gained, and that the
deployment of large utility-class
ALSTOM CFBs will help meet Chinas
rapid demand growth with clean,
cost-effective power.
