Fire Station Design Guide

Fire stations must accommodate diverse functions including housing firefighters, storing vehicles and equipment, vehicle maintenance, training, and community functions. The layout is primarily driven by minimizing firefighter response times and separating industrial and residential spaces. Key areas include the apparatus bays, support areas, administrative offices, training rooms, dorms, kitchen and recreation spaces. Design considers occupant quality of life, health and safety, and flexibility for future needs.
