The irrigation system operates at a loss each year in excess of $100,000 and while historically
the irrigation system was used to help ease demands on the potable water supply, with the new
East Calgary Regional Waterline, demands can now more easily be met.

in addition, the following stipulations have been made:

- the system will not have any major capital improvements made in 2010
- repairs will be made in a timely manner based on the scope of the repair
- the system will be operated similar to the service in 2009
- as it is recognized the system will be unavailable for periods due to repairs or

Enjoy a Maintenance Free Lifestyle - irrigation users will have access to irrigation water 7 days a week, between the

users wishing to sign up for the residential irrigation service must enroll and pre-pay for the
service prior to may 5th, 2010. if 500 users are not registered before may 5th, 2010, the system
will not be offered as a service to residents.

wAtering restriCtiOns
In response to requests for additional outdoor watering days, the Town of Strathmore intends to
amend the Water Bylaw to include three(3) watering days per household. Please note that the
watering times on each day will change as follows.

even numbered homes - tuesday, thursday and saturday

6Am to 9Am and 7pm to 10pm
Odd numbered homes - wednesday, friday and sunday
6Am to 9Am and 7pm to 10pm
Residents are reminded that while these hours will be available for outdoor watering, typically
lawns don’t need more than a single watering per week. Also, hand watering of trees, gardens,
etc. is permitted at any time, but residents are encouraged to help contribute to the Town of
Strathmore’s water conservation efforts.
