MID-WEEK EUCHARIST UPDATE
The 6 pm Mid-Week Eucharists continue. Our worship on Wednesdays has taken on a more relaxed,
contemplative shape. If you have not yet made use of this spiritual practice, please give it a try. This
Wednesday we celebrate the Feast of Bede, the Venerable, Priest and Monk of Jarrow, 735. His
Ecclesiastical History of England is one of the few primary sources regarding Anglo-Saxon history.

On Thursday, May 26th, Mother Johanna will be out of the office. If you have items for Tidbits etc, please
send them to our parish assistant, Ann. In an emergency please call Deacon Joan.
From Mother Johanna: Regarding the rededication of the desecrated colonial community cemetery in
Trenton, it has become something of an event. At the moment it looks like the rededication will take place on
Thursday morning, June 2nd. There will now be (besides our crucifer, deacon, acolyte and priest) its very
likely that we will also have a color guard, an honor guard for a rifle salute and a bugler to play taps. I dont
have the exact time for the event. I hope to nail down that information by this Sunday, May 22nd. Stay tuned
for more information.
We are off to a very busy and successful start at the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry. More than 11 different
parishioners have served more than 45 families representing 95 persons. There are still sign up opportunities.
Be sure to check the neon red poster to lock in your opportunity to help out at the Pantry. If you would like to
learn more about what we do at the Pantry, you my talk to either Harvey Kelley or Joe Stockbridge or any
parishioner who has volunteered this year. Thanks to all who have signed up to date. Joe
Summertime and The Livin' Is Easy - EZ Coffee Hours Introduced starting May 22
To celebrate the ease of summer, we are introducing a lighter approach to our coffee hours. Gone are the
sign-ups to host or cohost. Retired is the idea that one or two people sponsor an entire coffee hour on a
weekly basis. Instead, beginning May 22nd, if you have something you wish to bring in to share, please do so
on any given Sunday.
Anything brought in will accompany our coffee, tea and juice which will always be provided by the church.
Some weeks we may have much and some weeks we may have little, but we will give it a try through June and
see how this works.
If you wish to be a "barista" and help put the coffee on, come around 930 a.m. any Sunday to join in the fun
in the kitchen and help with light set up.

Please note that the deadline for submissions for the next Turning Point is
June 1st. We would love to have any articles, photos, announcements, etc.
that youd like to share. Please send your items to Ann at
[email protected]. Thanks!

The St. Dunstans Precision Mowing Team is now accepting

applications! This is your chance to join! Please contact
Dan DeLong for information.
Come Celebrate with Us!
On June 5 during coffee hour, we will be celebrating the Chattin's new home in Surry by hosting a
housewarming party for the family, down in the undercroft.
A previous rental location caused mold damage to numerous household items, so we have gathered a list of
things that could be useful for the family.
Table lamps
Toaster
Large plastic cutting board
Canisters
Plates/bowls
Hampers
Home Depot gift cards
Walmart gift cards
If you do plan to pick up one of the above items, please let Marian Wells, Mother Johanna or Tracy Shaffer
know so we can avoid duplicates.
A card basket for well wishes and gift cards will also be available at the coffee hour. Please come join us and
wish them well in their new home.
Retreat! Retreat!
ECW members are considering hosting a retreat during 2016 for any and all women. If you have any
suggestions or ideas, please fill out a brief survey form so that it can be considered during our May meeting.
Survey forms have been distributed via email and they are also available in the Narthex. A basket to collect
completed forms is also available in the Narthex. Questions? Please contact Leslie.
Rectors Discretionary Fund
St. Dunstans has a Rectors Discretionary Fund (RDF) for the use of our priest. These funds are used for
outreach expenses deemed appropriate. Your donations by cash or check to Mother Johannas RDF are
welcome at any time. Undesignated cash donations from the offering the first Sunday of each month will be
directed to the RDF. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
