1. When and where did the actions take place?
I-Robot took place in Chicago Circa 2035
2. Why doesnt Agent Spooner trust robots?
He hates and distrusts robots because one of them
rescued him in a car crash, leaving a young girl to die
because her survival was statistically less.
3. Describe the city in the film.
The city is really safe and in order because the robots
were there to protect it. The city looks really futuristic
and it has a lot of technologies.
4. List some of the tasks performed by robots in our
society.
Military service, Car production, Space Exploration,
Manufacturing, Commercial Agriculture
5. Why is Sonny different the other common robots?
Sony is different because he dreams and he had no
uplink to USR
6. What is VIKI?
Virtual Interactive Kinetic Intelligence
7. The respect for the Laws led to operate a revolution,
how does she justify it?
As her artificial intelligence grew, her sentience and
logical thinking also developed, and she deduced that
the humanity is going n a oath of certain destruction, so
she created the Zeroth law, which states that she has
to protect humanity from being harmed, also
disobeying the first and second law.
8. Does our definition of harm ever lead to the same
confounding dilemmas experienced in I-robot? How?
Robots are programmed to follow orders and yet we
expect that robots would be as smart as humans and
be our servants, which is wrong because anything
smart as humans will always look for their own
freedom. They dont have the same morals to
understand something like harm.
9. At the end of the film, the robots are abandoned and
set to a storage place, what do you think the future
will be like?
Their lives will be back to normal and will be simple.
