14 (a) Design the main girder of a pretensioned continuous bridge to suit the following data:

Width of road is 7.5m
Wearing coat thickness is 80 mm
Loading IRC Class A vehicle.
Loss ratio 0.80

(b) A post tensioned prestressed concrete bridge deck has the following data:

Clear span = 10m
Width of bearing = 400mm
Clear width of roadway = 7.5m
Footpath on either side = 1m
Thickness of wearing coat = 80mm
Live Load = IRC Class AA tracked vehicle
Design the deck slab for bending only. Assume M40 concrete and 7mm diameter HTS wires with
an ultimate tensile strength of 1500N/Sq.mm housed in cables with 12 wires and anchored by
Fressinet anchorage of 150 mm diameter. Loss ratio is 0.80
