CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS:
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)
1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and
leadership from completing this field experience?
During this field experience, I designed a syllabus for an Online Class then created a module to
correlate with my Unit Plan for that class. I used Weebly.com to create the student module. While
working on this project, I learned that technology facilitation is a lot of work. It took me awhile to
get everything planned out and then designed and it could still use more improvements. I felt like
it was hard to feel prepared to publish an online course. I wanted to make sure I had anything my
students would need, but still felt like there were specifics that I would leave out and need to add
later.
2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you
be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the
language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.)
Knowledge: This project helped me to become familiar with the technology vocabulary and
terminology. There were things that I knew what they were, but had never actually used them in
these formats. You cannot help lead others if you are not familiar with as many tools and
programs as possible.
Skills: Like with the knowledge part, you cant help others if you arent familiar with the process
yourself. While creating this project, I was exposed to several different ways of incorporating
technology into a classroom and feel comfortable demonstrating and explaining those skills with
your students or other teachers.
Dispositions: With these considerations and implementations of online teaching, you have to have
a positive yet flexible attitude. There may always be questions on how beneficial the technology
may or may not be and as a teacher you have to realize that it takes work and monitoring to find
that perfect option and incorporation for your diverse students.
3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or
student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed?
There is no real experience at my school with online learning. We are coming into a time now that
homeschooling and online learning is more and more popular. We are incorporating some online
learning now through a state K-12 Online used for homeschooled students and I think this
experience will benefit me and my school by having some experience in this area. It is always
good to have someone who knows at least a little about the processes and procedures of what is
going on. I am not sure how this impact could be assessed other than a possible implementation
of online courses in the future.
