Classroom Expectation
The class will be set up with two days of lectures/discussions and three days of lab time per week. The lab
activities will help students practice skills from what we covered that week.
Every student is required to continue to be respectful, responsible, and positive. With the amount of
discussions and ideas, each student will need to be mindful of other students options. This class is a safe
sharing space that will foster critical, creative thinking. Please refer to the Guide to Student Conduct.
Test
Every test will cover the chapters, discussions, and guest speakers. Test will be structured in written, oral,
and live action labs.
Projects
Projects will be discussed and be a separate handout. The checkpoints will be an indicator for progress on the
project. There are various checkpoints for each project.
Class work/Participation
With most of the class involving hands-on labs activities, participation is a requirement.
Homework
As this is a co-curricular class, there will be times that some lab activities will go over time and be continued
after-school/weekends. It takes time to build any show. This class explores the many aspects of production,
from design to event openings.
Absences/Make-ups
As stated in the Guide To Student Conduct, The student is responsible for all class work, homework,
assignments, or other subject matter presented during his/her absence. Students are responsible to turn-in
all assignments within a timely matter, and to commutate with both teacher and fellow students prior to the
absence. This includes any after-school activities. Also, it is up to the student to make plans with the teacher
to make-up test.
Because of the nature of performing arts, sometimes activities cannot be made-up. An alternate assignment
will be giving to make up the grade lost from that activity.
