In this style, the leader prefers allowing his employees to make the

Nevertheless, the leader still takes responsibilities of the decisions that

This is as a matter of fact a perfect leadership style. Leaders, you cannot

do everything by yourselves, hence you must set priorities and delegate

Delegation as a Leadership style

When a leader involves one or more of his team members in the process
of making decisions, that is participative leadership style, however, it is
important to note that it is still the leader who makes the final decision
making authority. Participative or democratic style is an indication of
3
leadership strength that will be well respected by team members. It
provides benefits and advantage on both sides; it allows employees to
become part of the team and at the same time, allows a leader to come
up with better decisions.

Delegative or free reign is another leadership style in addition to the

authoritarian leadership and the participative. This leadership style is
where employees or team members are allowed to make decisions.
However, the leader is still accountable for the decisions that are made
and used only when employees are able to analyze a particular situation
and know what needs to be done and how to do it. As a leader you can’t
do everything and this is the reason why you have to set priorities and
delegate certain tasks. This is a style to use when you truly trust and
have confidence in the people under your leadership. Use it wisely.
