Machining Science & Technology: PCME4304 (3-0-0)

This document outlines the modules and topics covered in a course on machining science and technology. Module I covers the geometry of cutting tools, mechanics of chip formation, tool wear measurement, tool life equations, and measurement of cutting forces. Module II discusses conventional machining processes like turning, drilling, milling and grinding along with the machine tools used. It also covers principles of machine tools like kinematics, speed transmission, tool and workholding methods. Module III introduces non-traditional machining processes such as ultrasonic machining, laser beam machining, electrochemical machining, and electrodischarge machining. The document also lists several reference textbooks for the course.
