CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION
I was appointed to Frigi Engineering Services (PVT) LTD Colombo as a trainee Engineer for a
period of 10 weeks from 28th October 2015 to 2ndJanuary 2016.There I was assigned to
Ratnapura New Multi-Speciality Hospital Complex project as the companys trainee electrical
and electronic engineer. Training was carried out on daily basis with the progression of the
project and it mainly involved air conditioning.
1.1 INTRODUCTION TO THE ORGANIZATION
Frigi Engineering Services (Pvt) Ltd is one of the Pioneering Building Services
Companies especially in the field of Air Conditioning, Ventilation, Fire Detection &
Protection Systems and Electrical & Plumbing in Sri Lanka. It was established in
1982 addressing the growing need for high quality Building Services in Sri Lanka
and Globally.
In 1996, as an expansion of the company, Frigi Engineering Services Singapore
Limited was established. Later in 1998, two Overseas Companies were established
in United Arab Emirates (UAE) namely EMIRATE DUNHAM BUSH LLC and AL DAHIYA
AIR TECHNOLOGY LLC. Again in 2010, Frigi Engineering (Doha/Qatar) was
established.
The Chairman and Managing Director of the Company ,Eng. Walter Perera is a
Chartered Engineer by profession having obtained the B. Sc. Engineering Degree
from
