CHAPTER 2: RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

The purpose of this chapter is to present the research


methodology used in the study. The methodology may include
publication research, interviews, surveys, and other research
techniques, and could include both present and historical
information.

A. RESEARCH DESIGN
The Descriptive method of research was used for this study. It
gathers information about the present existing situation and it is a
study designed to depict the participants in an accurate way. The aim
of Descriptive research is to gathers quantifiable information that can
be used for statistical conclusion or the targeted audience through
data analysis.
Survey and interviews would be conducted in this study to
gather information from the present existing situation and endeavour
to answer certain questions that can help to improve and convey
solution through architectural design.
The investigation of study intend to include (1) Site visit, to
gather subjective as well as objective information and also to
determine personal response to the people involved. (2) Interview, to
gather relevant data and opinions. (3) Survey questionnaires, to
gather systematic method of information from a target population and
to know their reaction and comments regarding the project. (4)
Exposure trip, to be exposed in places that are related to this project.
(5) Library and Internet Research, to gain wide variety of information
that can be used as research or sources that are relevant to the
project.
B. RESEARCH INSTRUMENT
a. Site visit
It is important to visit the place to know the existing
situation and actual problem, which will help the
proponent to develop concepts that are necessary to
improve the location.

b. Interview
Conducting personal interview with the persons
involved and expert about the development to gain
more thoughts and data. Government agencies that are
relevant in the study are also included in the interview.

c. Survey Questionnaires
Gathering information from respondents by forms of
series of questions and other prompts, including
analysis of the projects potential.

d. Exposure trip
Conducting

visits

to

related

establishments

for

additional ideas and notions on how the structure work


in different feature. Also, to observe and know the
current trends that can be offer to the customers.
The gathered information upon visiting the related
projects are used as source and guide in developing
the design concepts for the project.

e. Library & Internet research


Documentary resources that is already available in
libraries and through internet that provides related facts
and information that will support the project.

C. RESEARCH PARTICIPANTS
a. Tourists
This group points out to the traveller that does not
belong to the community. Their goals is to travel, visit
and gain benefit for something that cannot be found in
their home, most travellers do this to amuse
themselves and have pleasure in discovering and
experiencing new things.

b. Local Community
This group points out to the people living in the same
area. Local community is part of the research
contributors in a way that their presence may support
the proponent in study and to identify their comment
and opinions.
