What We are Learning
Important Information

Reading
This week we will go in depth with plot. We will also
be learning about homonyms. We will also explore
different genres this week.
Word Study
This week we will be working on commonly misspelled words that the students use frequently in
their writing. Please check the Homework Corner for
a list of words.
Writing
We began a small research project last week studying stories of courage and gathering sources. We
will work on compiling their information and turning
it into a research paper this week.
Math
This week we will be working on Order of
Operations. We will also start looking at multiplying
2-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers
Science
This week both classes will begin the Matter Unit.
We will be exploring physical and chemical change.
We will be participating in many experiments.
Project information will be sent home this week.
STEM
Both classes have started their Egg Drop STEM
challenge. Please talk with your students about all of
the fun things they are learning about Science and
Engineering.
