Republic Act 8171

Republic Act 8171 allows Filipino women who lost their citizenship due to marriage to foreigners and natural-born Filipinos who lost citizenship for political or economic reasons to regain Philippine citizenship through repatriation. Applicants cannot be opposed to organized government, teach violence, have been convicted of crimes involving moral turpitude, or have mental illnesses or contagious diseases. To repatriate, one must take an oath of allegiance to the Philippines and register with the civil registry and Bureau of Immigration, who will then cancel any alien registration and issue a certificate of Filipino citizenship.
