Most of the Commercials and industrial installation in the country have large electrical loads which are
inductive in nature, such as motors, large machines, air conditioners, drives etc which results in a lagging
power factor. This means loss & wastage of energy and heavy penalties by the electricity boards. However in
case of rapidly varying and scattered loads it becomes difcult to maintain a high power factor by manually
switching ON/OFF capacitors in proportion to variation of loads within an install ation. This drawback is
overcome by using APFC panel which not only maintains a high power factor but also eliminates the need for
constant manual invention.
