DAY
SIMMONS talking on phone walking up the stairs while speaking
on the phone about is promotion; hes very excited.
GUY1
(on phone)
Yes, I think I got a promotion. All he said was that he
wanted to see me right away so I know as much as you
GUY2
(Over the phone)
Youve been working there for 4 years and Ive never seen
someone work as hard as you so its a guaranteed promotion
GUY1
(On phone)
You make it sound so easy but, ever since (Pennyworth) joined
its felt as though the workload has doubled
GUY2
(over phone)
Well your hard work has certainly paid off so well done to
yo-
GUY1
(On phone)

You and I should talk later, Im at his office now. Speak

INT. OFFICE. DAY
SIMMONS stops in front of the boss door. He adjusts himself
and then knocks 3 times on the door.
BOSS
(Stern and Abrupt)
Come in Simmons
GUY1
Right away sir
SIMMONS Enter the room and stands opposite BOSS desk; hes
still excited. BOSS looking at documents neatly stacked on the
table, does not make eye contact with SIMMONS.
GUY1
You requested to see me?
BOSS gestures for SIMMONS to sit down; still does not make eye
contact. SIMMONS sits down quickly, a little flustered. BOSS
picks up the papers and hands then to GUY1
BOSS
(Raises head, making eye contact)
Tell me, Simmons. What do you see here?

GUY1
(Stutters)
T-These are my reports sir. I- um- handed them in 6 months
ago
BOSS
See, this is where we have an issue, Simmons.
GUY1
What do you mean si-
BOSS
See here, Simmons, Ive not seen one decent report with your
name on it, in the last 6 months.
GUY1
(Stammering softly)
but- I uh- wha-
BOSS
(Increasing volume and aggression)
Youve only met half your quota this term and even that could
have been submitted by a brain dead chimp, Simmons
GUY1
But sir-

BOSS
Plagiarised! All Plagiarised, Simmons and Im so
disappointed
GUY1
(Shocked silence)
BOSS
(Softer voice)
I think you know where the door is.
SIMMONS gets up dejectedly and leaves through the door. On his
way out, he sees RIVAL. The RIVAL smirks as SIMMONS
