Cellular phones have evolved beyond simple calling and messaging devices. They are now used for setting alarms, searching for information, and entertainment through applications and games. Mobile devices spread rapidly worldwide within a short period. Like the saying goes that change is constant, it is also applicable to celluar phones. The use of
cellular phones vary from sending messages to phone calls, and now using it as a tool for setting
the alarm, searching, entertainment (applications,games,social). In a very short period of time,
mobile telephones, tablets, and other hand-held devices swept the world. . (Wei, Ran. Mobile
Media: Coming of age with a big splash, January 2013 vol 1 no 1 pp 50-56). The worlds first
cellular network was created in 1977, but the mobile phone has made history as one of the fastest
diffusing communication technologies, reaching nearly six billion subscribers by 2011.

media, there is growing evidence that mobile devices are adding to how much news people get.
Mobile media offers not only offers entertainment, but it also is the best way to be the source of
such useful additional learnings. A 2012 report from the Pew Research Centers Project for
Excellence in Journalism and the Economist Group, The Future of Mobile News, found that an
estimated 50% of U.S. adults now own either a tablet device or smartphone that connects to the
Internet, and 66% of these device users say they get news from these mobile devices (Westlund,

Digital Journalism, 2013, 1:1, 6-26.)

With internet access, the use of cellular phones varies. Applications such as facebook and twitter,
information disseminates faster and people get informed immediately. People nowadays cannot
even go out without their phones, we are never inseparable with our devices,
According to the study from the University of Maryland, it suggested that social media services
maybe addictive because the growth in social network patents is around 20% annually. Today,
people spent 22% of their online time on social networking such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube,
and Weblog. In 2011, there are over 50% of world population is under 30 years. If Facebook is a
country, then it will become the third largest country in the world that which carrying more than
750 million users. Also, Facebook tops Google for weekly traffic in the U.S.
