Setting RET Antenna For 3G

This document provides instructions for setting up remote electrical tilt (RET) antennas for a 3G network with a multi-sector scenario. The steps include: 1. Enabling RET on the RF boards and checking that RET is detected 2. Starting an antenna line device (ALD) scan to get serial numbers 3. Adding the RET devices and checking their online status 4. Setting the electrical tilt for different sectors of the antennas 5. Verifying the electrical tilt settings

SETTING RET ANTENNA

FOR 3G

Example:
- NodeB Name : JKS097MM_KOMPLEKPATI
- Have Multisector scenario in sector 2, ET (4/4)
- 1st RRU : Cabinet 0, Subrack 81, Slot No. 0
- 2nd RRU : Cabinet 0, Subrack 84, Slot No. 0
- AISG Cable connect from RRU 2nd to Antenna
(AISG can connect from RRU 1st and from RRU 2nd because
we use same antenna)

1.

Set RF Board Parameter RET to ON.

MOD
RETPORT:CN=0,SRN=84,SN=0,PWRSWITCH=ON,THRESHOLDTYPE=UER_SELF_DEFIN
E,UOTHD=20, UCTHD=30,OOTHD=300,OCTHD=260;

Checking RET Already active and detected by RRU

DSP RETPORT:;
ALD Current Value (mA) will show the value

2.

START ALD SCANNING

SCN ALD:;

And We got Serial ALD info,

3.

ADD RET
To control coverage covered by RRU 1st

ADD RET:DEVICENO=2,DEVICENAME="Sec2",CTRLCN=0,CTRLSRN=81,CTRLSN=0,RETTYPE=SINGLE_RET,
SCENARIO=DAISY_CHAIN,VENDORCODE="HW",SERIALNO="M1433F2009V6265yy";

To control coverage covered by RRU 2nd

ADD RET:DEVICENO=5,DEVICENAME="Sec5",CTRLCN=0,CTRLSRN=81,CTRLSN=0,RETTYPE=SINGLE_RET,
SCENARIO=DAISY_CHAIN,VENDORCODE="HW",SERIALNO="M1433F2009U74787y";

For SERIALNO, please refer to result from ALD SCANNING.

Checking ALD/RET already Active
DSP RETSUBUNIT:;
On line status should be
Available

4.

SETTING ELECTRICAL TILTING ANTENNA

Set E-tilt sec 2 to ET=4
MOD RETTILT:RETCLASS=RET,OPMODE=DEVICENO,DEVICENO=2,TILT=40;

Set E-tilt sec 5 to ET=4

MOD RETTILT:RETCLASS=RET,OPMODE=DEVICENO,DEVICENO=5,TILT=40;

ET in LMT /U2000 = ET * 10
For parameter TILT is for Electrical Tilting, please fill it based on
planning.

5.

CHECK ELECTRICAL TILTING
