Coccs Apple Picking
Coccs Apple Picking
Programming Purpose:
Last week during circle time, the ECE introduced an activity where the children got
to sort different toys based on their colour. After talking to the ECE, she told me
that the children are learning to sort objects based on their colour. By observing
the children during this activity, I realized that they enjoyed sorting objects by
colour. As a result, I decided to create a sensory bin where the children have the
opportunity to sort apples by placing them in the right apple tree.
Objective:
Children will develop the ability to sort objects based on their colour.
Children will enhance fine motor skills by using pincer grasp to pick up the pomp oms and
place them in the apple tree.
Materials:
Clear small bin
Small Green & Red Pom Poms
2 Toilet paper rolls

find a seat. If youre happy and you know it and you really want to show it find a

1. Show children the sensory bin and show them the different objects in the bin
such as pom poms, tongs and apple trees

if they dont want to use the tongs to pick up the apples they dont have to.
3. I will call the children one at a time to come apple picking.
4. I will encourage the children to use tongs to pick up apples or I will
encourage them to use their fingers
