Article XIV. STUDY VISA


A) ONLY FOR ADMISSION TO ITALIAN UNIVERSITY

Admission to Italian Universities


Visa to be requested only upon confirmation of having been admitted to take the entrance exams, on the basis of the
regulations published by the M.I.U.R. Ministry for University and Scientific Research
1. Valid passport (at least six months beyond the date of the application)
2. Application form duly filled in and signed by the applicant, together with complete applicant address and phone number
3. Two passport size photograph
4. Visa fee
5. proof of means of support in Italy of not less than 350.57 for each month of the academic year This availability can be
proven through:
proof of personal or family resources
guarantee of financial recourses by accredited Italian institutions or agencies, local governments, or foreign institutions
or agencies considered trustworthy by the Italian Diplomatic Representation
6. declaration of the availability in Italy of appropriate lodgings.
7. insurance coverage for medical treatment and hospitalisation, to be demonstrated by means of:
1) Consular declaration attesting to the applicants right to healthcare in the presence of specific agreements between Italy
and the applicants country of origin;
or
2) foreign insurance policy or one underwritten with Italian bodies or firms that must not include limitations or exceptions
to the fees established for emergency hospitalisation.

B) IN CASE OF STUDY GRANTS


1. Valid passport (at least six months beyond the date of the application)
2. Application form duly filled in and signed by the applicant, together with complete applicant address and phone number
3. Two passport size photograph
4. Visa fee
5. proof of having been awarded a study grant by the Italian government, recognized foundations or cultural institutes,
international organizations, foreign governments or universities. Where the amount of the grant is in need of
supplementation to satisfy the required amount of means of support, economic resources can also be demonstrated by
proof of available means of support for the stay in Italy of an amount not less than that established in Table A annexed to
Ministry of Interior Directive 1.3.2000 or by:
proof of personal or family resources
bank or insurance warranty or equivalent credit document (bank letter of credit applicable in Italy) or travellers cheques
or other documentation proving the availability of sources of income in Italy (by means of bank transfer or deposit from
abroad)
2. declaration of the availability in Italy of appropriate lodgings as well as the funds necessary for repatriation, possibly to
be demonstrated in the form of a return airline ticket

3. insurance coverage for medical treatment and/or hospitalisation, to be demonstrated by means of:
Consular declaration attesting to the applicants right to healthcare in the presence of specific agreements between Italy
and the applicants country of origin;
or
foreign insurance policy or one underwritten with Italian bodies or firms that must not include limitations or exception to
the fees established for emergency hospitalisation.

C) Documents required for STUDY


Technical and professional instruction beyond the level of compulsory education (over 18 years of age)
1. Valid passport (at least six months beyond the date of the application)
2. Application form duly filled in and signed by the applicant, together with complete phone and address
3. Two passport size photograph
4. Visa fee
5. Proof of enrolment or pre-enrolment in course of study, indicating number of hours daily study and duration of course.
6. Documentation of educational history in Country of Origin.
7. proof of available means of support for the stay in Italy of an amount not less than that established in Table A annexed
8. declaration of the availability in Italy of appropriate lodgings as well as the funds necessary for repatriation, possibly to
be demonstrated in the form of a return airline ticket
9. insurance coverage for medical treatment and/or hospitalisation, to be demonstrated by means of:
Consular declaration attesting to the applicants right to healthcare in the presence of specific agreements between Italy
and the applicants country of origin;
or
Foreign insurance policy or one underwritten with Italian bodies or firms that must not include limitations or exception to
the fees established for emergency hospitalisation.
VISA REQUIREMENTS CHECKLIST

TOURIST VISA

1. Valid passport (at least three months beyond the expiry date of the requested visa).
2. Application form completely filled in and signed + complete and correct phone
number and address
3. Two passport size photograph
4. Visa fee
5. Proof of appropriate financial funds available
6. Travel insurance
7. Non transferable airline return ticket or reservation
8. Hotel reservation

9. Letter of the employer mentioning monthly salary earned by the applicant


10. Personal bank account statement
11. One set of photocopies of the above mentioned documents
