Dear Parents,
This week in Readers Workshop, we
will read, Simon and Molly Plus Hester To
increase reading comprehension, we will
Ask Questions (asking questions is a good
way to understand the characters and what a
story is about) and Identifying Characters
(A story often has characters that do the
actions in the story.) Text Features:
Photographs: Use Photographs to get
important information. Photographs tell the
reader that the book is about real people,
places, or things.
We will be identifying final and medial
sounds, segmenting words, adding deleting
phonemes
This week in Writers Workshop we
are working on our Garden books. In Math
we will play many math games to reinforce
numbers and counting backwards.
For Social Studies we will be learning
about Long Ago and Today with a focus on
technology and inventions. In Science, we
will continue our study of matter and energy
matter and energy.

night for 10-15 min.
