Stuck Pipe

The document provides details about determining the stuck point of a drilling string for the Blazer Unit #1 well, including input values for outer diameter, inner diameter, additional pull force, and stretch pulled. An alternate method is described to approximate the depth by marking the string at two weight points and measuring the distance between marks.

THE APPROXIMATE DEPTH DRILL STRING STUCK

Weight of string, including Block. (TSW)
Pick pipe up to this weight (TSW) and mark at rotary.
Pull required force for pipe size in use (see chart).
Mark pipe at rotary.
Measure distance between the two marks.

6. This will give you 3.5" of stretch per 1000' of free pipe.
7. Depth pipe stuck = [(stretch pulled) / 3.5) x 1000)].
