Taylors Classroom Rules and Policies


Applicable Courses:
AP Physics C: Mechanics
AP Calculus BC
Honors Trigonometry/Math Analysis

General Classroom Policies:

1) Students are expected to show respect to fellow classmates.


2) Students are expected to show kindness toward others.

3) Students are expected to demonstrate exemplary academic integrity in line with the
Bishop Alemany High School Honor Code.
4) Students are expected to show respect toward the instructor in the following way
i)

Listen while the instructor is talking, providing directions, or instruction.

ii)

Maintain a constructive positive attitude toward the course and the course
material.

iii)

Follow directions given promptly, asking for any clarification if necessary.

iv)

Refrain from the use of any electronic equipment for entertainment purposes
(iPad use for educational purposes is expected and welcome).

v)

Maintain open and honest communication with the instructor pertaining to the
course material and assigned work.

5) Students are expected to adhere to the course discussion policy outlined below.
i)

During all discussions students are to respect other students ideas, opinions and
cultural backgrounds.

ii)

Students are to involve all members of the group in the discussion or problem
solving activity, utilizing the unique areas of strength for each student.

iii)

Students are to fully justify and establish their ideas logically, and ensure that all
others in the group understand the concepts being discussed.

iv)

Students are to recognize that all individuals have unique areas of strength, and
can contribute meaningfully to any guided inquiry style investigation.

6) Students are obligated to follow the laboratory rules listed below.


i)

Students are to respect the ideas, input and opinions of fellow members of your
laboratory group.

ii)

Students are to follow all laboratory safety procedures on the Laboratory Safety
Handout, and described in the individual Laboratory Safety Videos.

iii)

Students are to respect the laboratory equipment, treating it with care.

iv)

All group members must contribute to laboratory writeups, including data


analysis.
