Can we be under surveillance without realising? ‘Thank you for taking the time to participate inthis study. Permission consent form for the participation of THETA.QSC 4... To be involved within Grace Anna Elizabeth Crawford’s Extended Project Qualification project. You ate being asked to participate within a conducted experiment involving surveillance, determining whether the question ‘of “Can we be under surveillance without us realising?” can be proved. During the course ofthis experiment, you shall be watched daly from the following starting date of Monday 17 November 2016-Friday 31* March 2017, during Manshead schoo! hours of 08:45-6:00pm Monday-Friday. You have been selected due to the reliability within your job role as fll time teacher within the educational department of Manshead School, ‘This experiment is being conducted by Yr 13 student Grace Anna Elizabeth Crawford, whom is currently undergoing EPQ at Manshead School, Dunstable, Bedfordshire LUI 4BB. With assisted guidance of Jamie Bishop, supervisor of Grace Anna Elizabeth Crawford for this conducted experiment and area of study. Study Pus The purpose ofthis study isto test if we are being watched throughout our daily lives without us knowing. How surveillance has been incorporated within our lives that we have learnt to accept this as the norm and have accepted the fact that we our being watched throughout our normal lives consistently. The fact that we are being watched constantly raises the question of surveillance and questions if this violation of privacy has gotten too far by watching the daily lifestyles of innocent people within society acting out their lives, The aim is to follow the participant and document via camera daly ther life, keeping a track of what they are doing and here they are consistently throughout the five month duration within the school grounds. The intended purpose isto cconduet this experiment without the participant being aware ofthis experiment taking place, and thus violating ther privacy and watching constantly oftheir daly activities, raising the question of how ridiculous surveillance has gotten and why do ‘we feel the need to continue on watching unnecessary content within peoples lifestyles. You shall be unaware of this experiment being conducted throughout the mentioned times throughout the day. If participate notices themselves being watched than it determines the question of how we can’t be surveyed without us knowing, however participate fails to realise what is happening, than it outlines the question that the government can survey us without us realising throughout our lives. Yet we fail to realise this as it is done privately where surveillance has incorporated its way into the ordinary lives of people in society today. Study Procedures: Ifyou agree to participate within this study regarding surveillance, you are aware that: ‘You shall unknowingly be followed at times throughout the school day starting from Monday 17th November 2016-Friday 31st March 2017 during the times of 08:45-6:00 on Mondays-Fridays weekly within the school term, ‘Your daily activities shall be documented unknowingly and stored upon an SD card that you can have direct access to upon ‘request if needed. ‘The documented photographs of your activites throughout sixth form over the 5 month period will be gathered and transformed into an artefact for pupil Grace Anna Elizabeth Crawford to present her results upon and explain how this conducted experiment regarding participant benefited her within her study of surveillance. Be discussed about throughout the final presentation and the participant's involvement throughout this experiment over the course of the five month period and how this has transformed into an artefact to aid within Grace Anna Elizabeth's Crawford study of focus. ‘You should understand the importance of prompt attendance throughout the $ month period and how its vital for participant ‘o be in school regulary to allow Grace Anna Elizabeth Crawford to document daily for the purpose of her artefact and ‘experiment into surveillance 7 The study will involve student Grace Anna Elizabeth Crawford, following and documenting percipient around the school with a digital camera throughout weekdays within school grounds and times of Manshead Upper School. In no way shall documenting and following be performed outside of specified times and days outside the schoo! grounds nor will personal photographs and information of the pereipient be shown to others outside ofthis experiment forthe privacy and saety ofthe said percipient.
