Resume of Key Personnel: (FOC Technician)

1.2 OPGW Cable & Splice Testing Criteria N. W. WABRAN shall provide fusion splices with an average attenuation below 0.1 dB when measured at 1550nm. any fusion splice with attenuation above 0.1 dB shall be re-spliced and re-tested. The approved methodology comprises measuring in both directions, using an OTDR, the attenuation of each splice for all fibers. The average of the two readings for each fiber will be accepted as the splice attenuation for each fiber. In addition the end to end attenuation of each fiber in each direction shall be measured using a calibrated light source and light meter. All measurements shall be made with an accuracy of 0.01dB and shall not be made over sections greater than the capability of the OTDR in use. Testing of unterminated fibers shall be performed by splicing temporary pigtails to the fibers or by using a Bare Fiber Adapter. A terminated fiber refers to fibers terminated with connectors on patch panels at an ODF and/or at equipment. 1.3 Drum Test The Cable Reel Acceptance Test (Reel Test) is a preliminary test to be performed when N.W.WABRAN receives cable from the shipper. This test should be performed as soon as possible after receipt of the shipment. The Reel Test only requires one end of the cable (normally the inside end), and does not require connectors on the fiber. This test is intended to verify that the fiber is received from the shipper in sound condition and without manufacturing defects. Any anomalies must be reported immediately to the shipper and manufacturer. Cable should not be used until it passes this test.
