At2monthsbeforeflowering,fertilizersareappliedwiththeaimof:
helpingexistingleavestomature
preventingtheappearanceofnewleaves,thusavoidingcompetition
fornutrientsand
enhancingflowerinitiation.
FertilizersatthisstageshouldhavehighPandKcontent,andalowN.
Inadditiontofertilizingthesoil,afoliarfertilizerwithnoN,veryhighPandK
contentshouldbesprayed.Boronshouldalsobeapplied.Besidesusingfertilizer,
creatingalong,dryperiodjustafterthecompletionofleafdevelopmenttolimit
vegetativegrowthofthetree,andthenapplyingplentyofirrigationwater,also
