As a learner performing a task is a very good exercise for our brain. I suggest this topic
because it is easy to understand, now lets answer and explain the example activity.
J= {(2,4),(3,6),(5,9),(7,8)}
(c)
L= {(1,8),(2,6),(3,9),(4,7)}
(b)
R= {(1,2),(1,9),(2,5),(2,6),(3,7)}
Solutions:
The relations J and L are functions because no two ordered pairs have the same x- value
but different y- values, while R is not a function because (1,2) and (1,9) are ordered pairs
with the same x- value but different y-values.
Relations ad functions can be represented by mapping diagrams where the elements of the
domain are mapped to the elements of the range using arrow. Now lets match!

Solutions:
Graphs (a),(b),(c) are graphs of functions while (d) is not because it didnt passed the
vertical line test.
