Reflection on mock job interview performance


The mock interview:
My name is Wafa Rashed Alriami, I applied for a job titled as " Primary Teacher" in RAK Academy
for Girls located at Ras Al khaimah. This interview done by miss Saliha Alali on Tuesday
25th/October/2016, at RAKWC room no A112. This interview done as a replay from school side,
for job application request that I applied 2 weeks before. The job application covered all of my
studying background, experiences and skills , which was matching most of the job requirements
such as Education graduator, communication skills and 2 years experiences. Also, the cv
consisted with cover letter.
How did I prepare for the interview?
I prepared myself for the interview by preparing all of the needed documents and cv. Moreover,
doing some researches about the place that I applied with , also I prepared at least one question
for the company that I will be interviewed with. Secondly, I prepared answers for all of the
expected questions. I arrived before the mentioned time, also I dressed will by wearing simple
clean dress and using natural makeup.
The mock interview review:
I think that if I am going to evaluate myself , or asking anyone to evaluate myself , I will have
supportive feedback ,because I covered the needed information such as having appropriate
information about the company .
In addition , I react with the questions by answering by professional way .
Also, I was including in most of my answers some examples as a support for my speech . I end
up the interview with presenting a question , that was one of the important requirements .
My strengths in the interview
:
My English language was one of the advantages that I controlled during the interview , it was
clear ,correct, completed answers, and able to be understood.
I was aware to my body language , for example , I was not crossing my hands , which means I
am not interested with the conversation, and I was aware with making eye contact with the
interviewer.
I introduced myself inappropriate way, by proving all of the needed skills such as my education
background, skills and experiences at schools and bank by starting from the old one moving to
the most recent one.
I found that I was prepared with enough information regarding many things away of personal
details, such as my experience, skills, education, and all of that linked with the job requirements
all of the covered one of the project rubric .
For example ,one of the question said : How did you know about our company ?
My answer was that I have enough information about the company , because I had an my
previous Teaching Practice at that school. Also, most recently I did a general research about the
school and specifically about the principle of the school.
Your areas in need of improvement

I think that I did very well in the interview , but one of the areas that I need to improve is being
conceder about synonyms, for example , one of the questions was asking about my personal
skills , and another question was asking how do I know that my skills are matching with the
requirements . The skills here were fallen in repetition . If I am going to do it again , I will mention
the same skills because it is important part but in different words. For instance , instead of
saying communication skills I will say intrapersonal and interpersonal talent.

What did you learn from the interview?


I learned from the interview that I need to be well prepared , by being dressed professionally ,
using contact eyes, and being on time with all of needed materials. In addition, I learned that I
need to focus on my voice and language fluency as an important consist of the interview.
I learned from reviewing the audio , that I did well but I need to increase my knowledge and
have different synonyms of some words.
I will use this experience in future by increasing my knowledge before that interview
generally , and specifically about the language and about the visited place.
If I am in a real job interview, I will do the same as I did in this interview. Because I am
totally believe that I did well in this interview.
