APPLICATION ACTIVITY:
I will have at least 6 lanes set
up for the class, with the pins
and bowling balls at each
lane. How this will work is
that you will be in groups of 4
or 5 and work together to
play. Before we begin and I
show you the rotation, I need
to explain the scoring to you
all. I have a sheet at the start
of the lane for each of you.
You will need to write down
the names of each person
you are playing with so we
can keep score. How we will
do it is each person bowls 10
frames, meaning that they
have 10 turns. Each turn, you
will get 2 chances to knock
down all of the pins, however,
if you knock down all of the
pins on the first try, that is a
strike, so on the sheet you
will write 10 and strike,
indicating that you scored a
strike on that frame
(cognitive). The sheet has the
information on it and if you
have any questions feel free
to ask me. Remember our
form, make sure you take
either 4 or 5 steps for an

approach and aim down the

middle of the lane, while
keeping your follow through
(psychomotor). Make sure
who ever is keeping score is
communicating with the
bowler about how many pins
they knocked down and is
writing down the scores. We
will have one person bowling,
one keeping score, and two
people retrieving the ball and
fixing the pins. Lets get to it!

Debrief/Closing/Cool
Down:
Psychomotor: How did you use
the technique from the video and
which was easier, 4 or 5 steps?
Was aiming more difficult than
you thought or easier?
Cognitive: Was taking score
easy or difficult? (Although we
werent using the exact scoring
method). And how did you aim
when certain pins were down?
Affective: Where can you go
bowling in el paso? This is a fun
activity that you can do with your
friends and family.

Final Transition:
Stop signal.
Everyone lets stop
what were doing and
get together.

I thought you all did a very good

job today and cooperated well
with each other. Go Tigers!
