Engineering Mechanics Syllabus

This document outlines the units of study for the Engineering Mechanics course in the first year of a B.Tech program. The five units cover topics including basic concepts of forces and force systems, equilibrium of forces, friction, centroids and centers of gravity, moments of inertia, and kinematics and kinetics of particles and rigid bodies. Key concepts include resultants of coplanar concurrent forces, static and dynamic friction, theorems for centroids and centers of gravity, moments and products of inertia for composite areas, and equations of motion for translation and rotation. The course references six textbooks on engineering mechanics.
