Field and shop technicians, field engineers, supervisors, plant electricians and others
responsible for the testing and maintenance of motor controls and circuits rated 208V
to 600V.
Course Description:
Students will learn safe and proper maintenance and testing procedures a variety of
motor controls and motor control centers. Starting with the proper maintenance and
testing of molded-case circuit breakers and thermal overload relays, students will
perform standard maintenance tests and interpret the test results.
In the motor controls, students will cover basic control circuits, two-wire, three-wire,
jogging and inching, sequence start/stop, automatic sequence starting, reversing, plug
stop and anti-plug, reduced-voltage and two-speed motor controls. Other types can
be substituted when done as an on-site training program.
Approximately 45% hands-on lab time vs. 55% lecture. This will vary
with the actual class.
