My name is Wenceslao Lacaze and I’ve been working as a SAP
basis Administrator and Solution Manager Consultant for the last 8
years.
I’m a Techno-Functional SAP Solution Manager Subject Matter
Expert (SME), I Design, Build and Implement the product using “Run
Sap” Methodology.
I have developed a very extended experience with medium and
large scaled SAP installations in several (multi)national
environments.

Purpose

This customizing guide has been compiled to know how to make the minimal
Customizing in Solution Manager.

Solution Manager – Scenario Description

You have your Solution Manager Installed and you already done the initial Post-
install task

Initial Task

All the changes in Solution Manager can be assigned to 1 Project, This allow to
control all the Customizing using one repository.

Create the Project


To create the project goto:
Txcode: SPRO_ADMIN and click in New.

Write the Project Name

Complete the information requeried.

Generate Scope
If you want you can create a Specify Scope to use in you Solution
ScopeSpecify Scope

Select SAP Solution Manager and then click in “Generate Project IMG”

Activate CTS
You can Activate the the CTS, this allow to control all the transport for this project
like a 1 single package.
Transp Requests  Activate CTS Funcionality

Start the Customizing


Go to the Txcode: SPRO and execute the Project

Basic Customizing
The Basic Customizing in Solution Manager allow us to use the scenarios related to
EWA-Remote Monitoring. Remember to change the status of the task if is already
done.

Initial Configuration Part1


This step create the User to Administrate Solution Manager, another user used
internally in Solution Manager to publish the BSP Services and make the initial
configuration to connect Solution Manager to Service Marketplace.

• login/create_sso2_ticket = 2
This allow the SM system create the Single Sing-on Ticket between SM and
SMD
• login/accept_sso2_ticket = 1
This allow the SM accept ticket from other system to access via single sign-
on
• icm/host_name_full = fully-qualified server name
This parameter is used by SM to show the BSP Pages to the SapGui
• icm/server_port_1 = PROT=SMTP,PORT= <> 0 e.g.:25000
Parameter to setup the SMTP Port
• login/no_automatic_user_sapstar = 0
To block the logon of SAP*

Select the Instance Profile / Extended Maintenance and Change

Add all the values and Save/Activate.

Maintain Logical Systems


Maintain the Logical System allow to Identify our system in the Landscape.

Define the System


You need to user <SID>CLNT<CLIENT> nomenclature

When you save the system show in wich Workbench Request you want to save the
modification. Now you can see the Current Project “Z_SG_SSM” created before..

Assign the Logical System defined to the Clients in SCC4

Assign S-User for Sap Support Portal Functionality


In this step you map the ABAP user to the OSS user, this is mandatory to use the
Maintenance optimizer tool..

Create a new entry writing:


User: ABAP User.
Sap Customer Number: Customer number.
Contact Person: Oss user whitout the S letter.

In this Step, the SM activate several BC sets in Automatic.

Click in Yes and wait until the process end.

REFRESH This periodic job collects responses from SAP for messages
MESSAGE sent from the SAP Solution Manager
STATUS
SOLMAN_ISS The SAP Solution Manager buffers message attributes, such
UE_STATUS_R as the current user and the processing status. This periodic
EFRESH job collects these message attributes from the message
system and makes them available for analysis.
REFRESH_AD The job periodically reads administrative data from SAP
MIN_DATA_FR Support systems via RFC connection SAP-OSS and buffers
OM_SUPPORT them in SAP Solution Manager System. This data is required
for service connections and Support Desk (for example:
System data synchronization with SAP Support Portal).

SEND_SYSTE The job periodically sends the information which systems are
M_RELATIONS monitored by Solution Manager to OSS. This data is required
HIP_TO_SUPP for the new services "SolMan Diagnostics" and "SolMan
ORT Classic".

SERVICE_CON The job periodically checks if a service connection has been


NECTION_LIS scheduled to be opened in Solution Manager. If so, it sends
TENER this information to OSS. This job requires little system
resources. It only connects to OSS when a connection needs
to be opened. If open fails, it retries next time it runs.
Landscape The job gets system data for the Solution Manager system
Fetch landscape, by automatic data transfer.

Select the Job to schedule and click in the Run icon

Set-up System Landscape


In this task you add the system to the Landscape using the wizard

This task allow to configure the SDCC in Solution Manager.

Activate the SDCC in the Solution Manager

In this screen you can Add and Assign Sap Solution Manager like the Master
System. Click in the Add Icon.

Select the system and the Client.

When you add one system you need to Assign the Master System and check the
connectivity between Solution Manager and the Satellite System.

In this task you setup the Solution Manager like Master System in the Sattellite.

Create the Solution Manager Implementation Project


The Solman Project is used to control and monitor all the Solution Manager
implementation.
Txcode: SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN and Click in”New”

Select the Name of the Project and the Type:

Select the Project Language

Assign the Landscape


System Landscape System
Select the Logical Component(in SM 7 you have already the logical component
Z_SOLMAN_ITSELF)

Save, Solution Manager show the ”Enhancement For Documents” screen, Click in
OK

Generate the IMG Project

Select the Productive System role in the Drop Box and Click in Replace icon..

Select YES
