Reduction Half-Reaction E (V) : Neutral or Acid Solution

This document lists reduction half-reactions and their standard reduction potentials (Eo) for both neutral/acidic and basic solutions. In neutral/acidic solutions, common half-reactions include oxygen gas being reduced to water, halogens being reduced to their anion forms, and metals being reduced from cations to the elemental form. In basic solutions, common half-reactions include oxidizing agents like chlorine and bromine being reduced to their anion forms, and metal hydroxides and oxides being reduced to the elemental metal and hydroxide anions. The standard reduction potentials provide a measure of the reducing ability of each half-reaction.
