DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Ensures that proper procedures are being followed by all Technicians in the workshop in performing their respective duties, instruction correctly
implemented to safeguard both men and machine.
2. Reviews drawings, plans or samples of science equipment to be fabricated as prototype and determines the nature of work to be done. Prepares
workloads to different machines with estimated manhours to process the work.
3. Confers with superior on matters as unusual problems related to operation which needs immediate attention.
4. Coordinates with Senior Science Equipment Designer and the Senior Science Research Specialist on matters of mutual concern.
5. Acts as Safety Engineer of the Center and conducts routinary safety inspection of assigned areas; prepares and submits weekly & monthly safety
inspections and loss control reports to the Technical Director.
6. Prepares/submits daily and monthly production reports with regards to the accomplishment of his area of responsibility to the Technical Director.
7. Monitors the efficiency of direct reports and recommends to the Technical Director, who among them deserve increases, promotions, change in status
and/or disciplinary actions such as warnings, suspension, and even termination.
8. Initiates the concept of quality control in process.
9. Prepares a preventive maintenance schedule for all equipment of the Center including the facilities such as airconditioning units, generator sets, etc.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Sets-up, prepares computer programs and operates various Computer Numerical Controlled Machines, such as the Universal Milling Drilling Machine, etc.
Performs other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
2. Received/interprets blueprints/drawings and sketches, materials and instructions from supervisor/foreman as to work assignments and prepares the machine and
its corresponding tools.
3. Studies drawing/sketches to ensure correct interpretation prior to work execution and refers all problems encountered to his superior.
4. Prepares appropriate computer program and selects the required tools for the specific operation.
5. Mounts and sets-up workpiece in the machine and determines appropriate jigs/fixtures to ensure correct/rigid mounting in reference to instructions/requirements of
the job as may be required.
6. Performs housekeeping of machine assigned and his respective work area.
7. Reports to his superior any defects/wear that may develop from his assigned machine in the course of its operation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Prepares drawings and illustrations needed in the preparation of users manual and manual for experiments using science equipment to be developed by
the Center.
2. Integrates drawings and illustrations in the users manual and experiments manual in a format ready for printing.
3. Checks and validates test runs and final run of printed manuals to verify printers compliance to qualify standards and specifications set by the Center as
to graphics, illustrations and prints.
4. Makes a study of the most economical, appropriate and locally available materials, processes and technology for the equipment to be designed.
5. Verifies and checks if the prototypes produced are in accordance with the approved designed and working drawings.
6. Coordinates with the mass producers and regularly checks the mass production of science equipment to ensure that the design and working drawings
are followed.
7. Coordinates with the Workshop and Quality Control Engineer and Senior Science Research Specialist on matters of mutual concern.

1. Performs layouting, filling, grinding and other finishing work while assembling the science equipment prototypes
2. Prepares the jibs and fixtures needed in the metal workshop.
